LIFT_
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 27, 2026 · Last Updated: March 27, 2026
TL;DR: We collect only what's needed to make LIFT_ work. Your workout data belongs to you. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't track you across apps.
1. Who We Are
LIFT_ ("we," "us," "our") is a workout tracking application available on iOS and Android. The app is operated by LIFT_ and can be reached at:
Website: https://liftapp.fit
Contact: privacy@liftapp.fit
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name (first and last name)
- Email address
- Date of birth (provided during signup)
- Authentication credentials — managed securely by Firebase Authentication. We never store your password directly.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers. We do not receive or store your Google/Apple password.
2.2 Workout & Fitness Data
Data you enter while using the app:
- Workouts — exercise names, sets, reps, weight, duration, date, mood, pre-workout supplement info
- Templates — saved workout plans with exercises, target reps, RPE, rep ranges, set types
- Personal Records (PRs) — automatically calculated from your workout history
- Body weight logs — weight entries with dates
- Body measurements — neck, chest, arms, waist, hips, thighs, calves with dates
- Custom exercises — exercises you create with name, muscle group, and equipment
- Exercise notes — persistent notes attached to exercises
2.3 Progress Photos
If you use the progress photos feature (when available), photos you upload are:
- Stored in Firebase Cloud Storage under your user account
- Compressed to reduce storage size (approximately 1MB per photo)
- Thumbnails generated for in-app display
- Only accessible by you — no other user can view your photos
- Permanently deleted when you delete a photo log
2.4 Bunker (Social) Data
If you participate in Bunkers (group workout challenges):
- Bunker membership — which bunkers you belong to
- Activity feed — workout check-ins, PRs, and system messages shared with bunker members
- Weekly progress — workout count tracked against bunker goals
- Invites — email addresses you enter to invite others (checked against our user registry)
Bunker activity is visible to other members of that bunker only.
2.5 Shared Templates
When you share a workout template, we create a shareable link containing:
- Template name and exercise list
- Your user ID (as the sharer)
Shared templates are publicly accessible via their link. They do not contain any personal workout data, body measurements, or photos.
2.6 Device & Technical Data
We automatically collect minimal technical data through Firebase:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash reports (if crash reporting is enabled in future updates)
We do not collect: location data, contacts, call logs, SMS, browsing history, advertising IDs, or any data from other apps on your device.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide the service — store and sync your workouts, templates, measurements, and settings across devices
- Calculate analytics — PRs, volume tracking, muscle distribution, recovery estimates, exercise progress charts
- Enable social features — bunker feeds, workout sharing, template sharing
- Authenticate you — sign-in and account management
- Improve the app — fix bugs, understand usage patterns (aggregated, not individual)
4. How We Store Your Data
All data is stored using Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Authentication — manages sign-in credentials securely
- Cloud Firestore — stores workout data, templates, measurements, bunker data
- Firebase Cloud Storage — stores progress photos (when feature is active)
Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers. Firebase provides encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security.
We also store a local cache of your data on your device using AsyncStorage for offline access and faster loading.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone. Period.
We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Firebase/Google Cloud — as our infrastructure provider (data processor)
- Bunker members — workout check-ins and PRs are shared within bunkers you join
- Shared templates — publicly accessible via generated links
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or government request
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your data is visible within the app
- Edit your data — modify workouts, measurements, body weight, templates at any time
- Delete your data — delete individual entries, workouts, or templates from within the app
- Export your data — contact us at privacy@liftapp.fit to request a full data export
- Delete your account — contact us at privacy@liftapp.fit to request complete account deletion. We will delete all associated data within 30 days.
If you are in the European Union (GDPR), California (CCPA), or Australia (Privacy Act 1988), you have additional rights under local law. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts — data is retained as long as your account exists
- Deleted data — when you delete a workout, measurement, photo, or template, it is permanently removed from our servers
- Account deletion — all data is permanently deleted within 30 days of request
- Shared templates — remain accessible via their link even after your account is deleted (they contain no personal data)
8. Children's Privacy
LIFT_ is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@liftapp.fit and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Firebase Authentication handles credential security including password hashing
- Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own data
- Firebase Cloud Storage rules restrict photo access to the owning user
- We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Firebase and third-party providers (Google, Apple)
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to privacy@liftapp.fit.
10. Third-Party Services
LIFT_ uses the following third-party services:
We do not use any advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that track individual users.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top will change
- For significant changes, we will notify users through the app
- Continued use of LIFT_ after changes constitutes acceptance
